They say there two kinds of polo players - those who fell and those who are about to... I am no polo player, yet I have had new pals regale me with hair-raising experiences... Landing on their pates and taking years to recover, or slamming their arm and needing plates, screws and maybe Dr Rudy Wells to patch them back up!
The Diamonds International Cheshire Finale at Lion Castle had some spills on and off the field, I was one of them - my left knee and ankle in braces plus many icedowns, I am told I am damn lucky? My leg is screaming otherwise... Between now and the end of March, more polo will come under our limited scrutiny.
Back in November, Eric Jerome Dickey released Gideon #3 "Dying For Revenge" and in our current convalescence we finally got a chance to read it - it has much of Antigua and a smattering of Barbados this time around... Or maybe moreso? How, you may ask? Well, we examine the documented inspirations which spurred the so-called creative process, and realise the heroine of "Pleasure" and a pair of characters from "Drive Me Crazy" follow a recurring theme for Mr Dickey, we examine to learn if there's a reason behind it... Watch out for the analysis!
Rod Stewart started as a grave digger, what Barbadians would refer to as a "soil technician," but he's come a long way - we listen to some great musical memories and review his videos over the decades!
Remember when we learned one of the Tuskegee Airmen was a Bajan? Well, this News-Blog has stepped up the ante and has actually interviewed three of the Next Generation and what happened next, with Dreamworks no less!
So may be laid-up from work 'til the 28th, but we have lots for you to check in the days ahead!

Wow, you really do learn something new everyday! I did not know that one of the Tuskegee Airmen was a Barbadian! Will look for that interview.
